FAQ

Common questions, quick answers.

What version of GTA San Andreas do I need to run these mods?

Most mods and modpacks require the original PC version (v1.0 US). If you are using a Steam, Rockstar Games Launcher, or Definitive Edition version, you will need to downgrade your game executable to v1.0 using a downgrading tool before installing scripts or ASI mods. Also, you can find a clean v1.0 executable by joining our community.

Are the modpacks on this site compatible with SA:MP?

Yes, unless stated otherwise in the specific mod page description. However, graphics mods like heavy ENB presets or high-polygon vehicle packs may lower your FPS during heavy server events or near crowded areas, so while it depends on your PC specifications, we mostly recommend not using ENB. A better alternative for ENB is Proper Shaders, which is not as performance-heavy and looks better most of the time.

Are all mod downloads on this site safe from viruses and keyloggers?

Yes. Every file uploaded to our site is scanned for malware, stealer scripts, and backdoor executables before publication. We never feature locked or obfuscated .exe installers without thorough verification. On every mod’s page you can find a link to VirusTotal, so you can be assured the mods uploaded by us are clean.

Can I submit my own mods or modpacks?

Absolutely. Join our Discord community to submit them. Also, you can email us at contact@grovestreetmods.com.

Troubleshooting

Fix the most common problems.

My game crashes on startup or during the loading screen. How do I fix it?

Try deleting gta_sa.set from your Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files folder.

Why am I getting low FPS on my PC?

GTA San Andreas is an older 32-bit application that cannot really utilize modern CPUs at their maximum potential. Depending on your hardware, you can try lowering the graphics settings, closing some background applications, or running one of our low-end modpacks.
